Chevrolet Silverado EV Makes Commercial Debut in Big Game

Rearranged title sequence of “The Sopranos” featuring Silverado EV in the lead role

DETROIT – The Chevy Silverado EV first made its commercial debut during the big game in “New Generation,” a modernized version of the opening sequence from the classic show “The Sopranos.”

The HBO series, which aired from 1999 to 2007, has seen a resurgence in popularity over the past two years, as fans of the original rediscovered the hit series and a new generation of viewers plunged into the drama. In the original title sequence, Tony Soprano drives a 1999 Chevy Suburban from Manhattan to New Jersey. Chevy updates the widely known opener with a modern interpretation. Notably, this includes Tony’s daughter, Meadow, who drives a 2024 Silverado EV.

“This place is all about taking a nontraditional approach to nontraditional electric trucks,” said Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “The Silverado EV redefines our best-selling nameplate, while the venue envisions what the next generation of ‘The Sopranos’ will look like today. It reinforces the Silverado EV’s position in American culture.”

“The New Generation” features an updated and optimistic interpretation of the original driving scene, including Jamie-Lynn Sigler playing Meadow with a lollipop instead of Tony smoking a cigar, a happy reunion between Meadow and Robert Iler who plays his brother AJ, and Meadow uses Four-Wheel Steer technology from the Silverado EV, which helps make parking maneuvers easier.

This venue was created by Chevy’s recording creative agency Commonwealth // McCann and features prominent creatives from “The Sopranos”:

  • David Chase, show creator and director
  • Phil Abraham, director of photography for the original title sequence
  • Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who plays Meadow Soprano (daughter of Tony Soprano)
  • Robert Iler, who plays AJ Soprano (son of Tony Soprano)

This spot highlights some of the key features of the first Silverado EV, which is expected to offer GM’s estimated 400-mile electric range.1 fully loaded, four-wheel steering, available 17-inch diagonal free-form LCD infotainment screen, reconfigurable 11-inch diagonal driver instrument screen available, fixed glass roof available and 24 inch wheels available.

In spring 2023, the Silverado EV will debut a WT model. In fall 2023, a fully loaded RST First Edition model will debut. Reservations for the Chevrolet Silverado EV are available now at Chevrolet.com2.
