TEAM CHEVY POST RACE NOTES AND QUOTES:

TY DILLON, NO. 42 BLACK RIFLE COFFEE COMPANY CAMARO ZL1 – Done 11th

YOU COME NEAR TOP-10, BUT BRING YOUR CAR HOME IN ONE PART AND A SOLID FINISH. HOW IS THIS TO START YOUR SEASON?

“Yeah, that’s our goal today. Race smart and race when we need it to reach the finish. I am very proud of these people because we achieved what we wanted; to get a position at the end of the race and have a chance to finish well. It’s a great start for the team and we’re looking forward to Fontana and the rest of the season.”

DANIEL SUAREZ, NO. 99 TOOTSIES ORCHID LOUNGE CAMARO ZL1 – 18th completed

“Our day was fine. We have Chevy Lounge Tootsies Orchid No. A fast 99, we just fell behind with a speed penalty. Type No. 42 (Ty Dillon) pushed me into the grass and then we lost the wheel. It wasn’t a clean day, but we will move to the Auto Club (Speedway).”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR., NO. 47 KROGER / IRISH SPRING CAMARO ZL1 – 28th completed

“We put ourselves in the perfect position to lead the Daytona 500 with five laps to go. All and all, No. Our 47 Kroger/Irish Spring Camaro was just pushed in the wrong place. We did everything we could today to put ourselves in the right position. We have to be happy about that and move on.”

KYLE LARSON, NO. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM CAMARO ZL1 – Excluded due to accidental damage on lap 190; 32nd finish

“This is disappointing. I ran there at No. 4 (Kevin Harvick). I didn’t realize how close he was to No. 17 (Chris Buescher). I approached him just as he was approaching him and it made him unfit. I hate that I did that. It’s very difficult to see in front of him, especially when it’s straight like that.”

“I didn’t realize how close he was to her and that excited him. I hate that it ended our day, as well as many others. No. 5 HendrickCars.com Our Chevy is fast and hopefully we can see Chevy win here with Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) up front.”

TYLER REDDICK, NO. 8 3CHI CAMARO ZL1- Out of action due to damage sustained in crash on lap 152; 35th finish

“We had a very fast Chevrolet 3CHI all week and felt really good after our team worked hard to make adjustments during today’s race. We had a broken part that caused me to spin and crush on the front. With the shortage of parts for these new cars, it definitely makes my team work harder and that’s tough. I can’t wait to go to the west coast and improve our performance. The whole RCR team and everyone at ECR worked really hard to make this car fast.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 AXALTA CAMARO ZL1 – Absent due to crash damage on lap 63; 38th finish

“Looks like the bottom lane is being pushed well; nice, balanced and controlled. The outside track starts to get a little slippery on the last lap or so. I noticed that, but there’s nothing you can really do about it. You’re just trying to push your man forward. That’s (Martin) Truex Jr. in front of me and Kyle Busch. We did a good job of managing the gaps at the bottom. I think No. 21 (Harrison Burton) just came off, slid down the track and I slid into the inner wall. There’s nothing we can do. I think we will definitely finish in the top five at that Stage. Axalta Camaro No. 24 of us seemed very fast. It’s disappointing, but we’re going to California (Auto Club Speedway) and we’ll be fast there.”

ROSS CHASTAIN, NO. 1 ADVENT HEALTH CAMARO ZL1 – Out of action due to damage sustained in crash on lap 63; 40th finish

TALK WHAT YOU SEE THERE.

“They just broke and I saw a car overturned. Just the wrong place, the wrong time for the Chevrolet Health Adventist No. 1 us. Disappointment.”

HOW CARE DO YOU THINK EVERYONE? BRAD KESELOWSKI HAD A POWERFUL PRESS THERE AND IT WAS NOT WORKING.

“Yeah, everyone around me is pretty calm. I see a tandem in front. Everything seems fine. I was blind to what was going on, so I didn’t really know what was wrong.”
