SEMA Gentex Booth Highlights:

  • Custom C8 Corvette Widebody designed and built by Motorsport Label

  • Custom, high-tech, land-themed Chevrolet Silverado

  • Matching land-themed Vorsheer trailers with stealth trailer cam systems

LAS VEGAS, November 02, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — After a year of hiatus, the live SEMA show is back, and Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) is using the event to showcase its advanced prototyping capabilities by launching several custom build vehicles, including the Chevrolet Silverado land-themed and matching Vorsheer XOC trailer, and Label Motorsports-designed C8 Corvette featuring a unique faux carbon fiber wide body kit.

These and other technology concepts, aftermarket products, and demonstration vehicles will be displayed at the Gentex booth (North Hall, #12525), which is designed to showcase Gentex’s growing digital vision and vehicle connectivity product line.
Gentex is a long-standing supplier of Tier-1 electro-optical products to the global automotive, aerospace and fire protection industries. It is renowned for supplying nearly every major automaker with connected car technology and advanced electronic features that optimize driver vision and enhance driving safety.

“The SEMA Show is not only the ideal event to assess aftermarket interest in the technology we develop for our OEM customers, but also to showcase the engineering and prototyping capabilities we bring to every development project,” said Gentex President and CEO Steve Downing. “We are known for our state-of-the-art electronics technology, but it is our ability to seamlessly integrate features according to OEM specifications and design language that helps set us apart.”

To validate this premise, all vehicles at Gentex’s 2021 SEMA booth demonstrated the company’s prototyping capabilities in areas such as advanced composite materials, silicon tooling and precision urethane casting, glass processing and coating, paint matching and finish, mechanical engineering, and electrical integration. .

Stan Gentex will also highlight a unique partnership with Western Michigan-based custom automaker Label Motorsports, which will unveil Project Vouno’, a full carbon fiber fender replacement C8 Widebody and a 24-part forged carbon fiber aerodynamic program designed in-house by Andy Siradakis, Owner of the Motorsports Label. This vehicle was featured in the SEMA Battle of the Builders and the Chevy SEMA Design Awards.

The car incorporates many of the world’s firsts for the Corvette C8 such as a completely custom titanium mid-bumper-exiting exhaust, aerodynamic duct hood integrated into the front bumper, the world’s largest billet 8 piston brake system, and one time, the Brixton Forged Wheel Label design. Gentex contributed to the vehicle with forged carbon fiber digital mirrors, custom exterior dimming mirrors, and a custom-designed set of clear taillights.

Label and Gentex also partnered together in the mechanical and aesthetic manufacture of Gentex to ensure design consistency across vehicles debuting at the booth while also highlighting the collective design, engineering and prototyping capabilities that the company brings.

Gentex’s vehicle build includes a large and heavily modified 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss (2LT). The aggressive body positioning stems from the addition of Fiberwerx carbon fiber fenders and bedsides accentuated by 37″ Nitto Ridge Grappler tires mounted to Gentex-designed 20″ Brixton Forged rims. Custom Addictive Desert Design Stealth Fighter front and rear bumpers complete the look. The truck is detailed with forged carbon fiber accents, including hood appliques, exterior and interior mirror caps, and exhaust tips. Sitting atop the Mule Sam truck-specific roof rack is the DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone for exploring the surrounding terrain.

This truck features a unique vehicle wrap that has been carefully crafted by Label Motorsports. It consists of a subtle matte-black base coat accentuated by the iconic gloss, colored shapes and dimensions that reflect Gentex’s areas of technical expertise, such as vision systems, electronics and chemical development.

The truck is paired with a 2021 Vorsheer XOC (Extreme Overland Camper) companion which features the same overland theme and matching wrap. It comes with every outdoor adventure need, including heating and air conditioning, propane hob, sink, fridge/freezer, rooftop tent, and more. It also features a Gentex-designed trailer cam integrated into the spare tire cover to stream rear video directly into the truck’s digital rearview mirror. For added convenience, Gentex features an integrated kegerator with reverse tap, bottom dispensing system, dedicated whiskey blade and a 300 cigar humidor.
