For more than 58 years, Mustangs have stood for exhilarating freedom, and now it’s time to welcome the next generation of Mustangs. Ford is inviting Mustang owners and fans to participate in a countdown to The Stampede, the all-new Mustang’s global debut event on September 14 as part of the Detroit Auto Show activities.

With the backdrop of Motor City and thousands of Mustang invitees, Ford employees and global media in attendance, The Stampede begins the next chapter of the Mustang story.

The Stampede: Global Debut and Mustang Celebration Event

At the starting point where Woodward Avenue, America’s first paved road begins, Ford is inviting Mustang fans around the world to descend on Hart Plaza for the all-new seventh-generation Mustang debut taking place on September 14 at 8 p.m. EDT.

“When we conceived the idea of ​​the indoor-outdoor Detroit Auto Show, the Stampede was the kind of event we hoped for and believed it was possible,” said Rod Alberts, executive director, Detroit Auto Show. “We are proud to support Ford with what will become a truly iconic milestone, celebrating the legacy and future of the Mustang, as well as the global mobility industry, here in Detroit.”

For Mustang fans who won’t be in Detroit, The Stampede will stream live on social channels, including Ford’s YouTube and Ford Mustang Facebook page.

Return trip to Stampede

In front of from The Stampede, Ford is collaborating with America’s Automotive Trust and the Detroit Auto Show on a six-generation Mustang cross-country adventure called The Drive Home. Ford is extending this annual trip to the Detroit Auto Show by inviting and encouraging all Mustang owners and fans to join The Drive Home to The Stampede.

Starting on September 6 at LeMay – the American Automobile Museum in Tacoma, Washington – the return journey to Stampede will traverse nine states, plus more than a dozen stops. The final part of this celebratory journey will see owners gather at Ford World Headquarters on September 14 ahead of the reveal to march together to The Stampede’s reveal event.
