The electric SUV segment is growing rapidly, and the two newest entries in this class are the Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach-E. They are similar in size and driving range but very different in several other important ways.
Let’s take a closer look at these electric SUVs and find the right one for you.
2022 Kia EV6
The new Kia EV6 for 2022 is an electric vehicle with sharp styling, unique proportions, and impressive range and efficiency figures. Prices start at $41,400.
Highlights of the Kia EV6
Greater efficiency: The Kia EV6 returns up to 117 MPGe, which beats the Mustang Mach-E’s best rating of 103 MPGe. That means the EV6 can go further with the same amount of energy, which equates to lower fuel costs. According to the EPA, the EV6 with rear-wheel drive (RWD) annual fuel cost is only $550.
More affordable: The Kia EV6 starts at about $2,500 less than the Mach-E. Combined with higher efficiency ratings, Kia enjoys modest cost advantages over Ford.
Great warranty: The Kia EV6’s warranty trumps the warranty in favor of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Kia offers a basic 5 year/60,000 mile warranty and a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, while Ford has a 3 year/36,000 mile base warranty and a 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
