The next generation Ranger is designed with a larger cargo box loaded with features that will turn it into a total cargo management solution.
KEY PICK UP
Which features of the Ford Ranger make it such a versatile workspace?
The Ford Ranger cargo box can be an efficient workspace, thanks to the rear cargo box access step, easy-lifting tailgate, tailgate work surface, clamp pockets, built-in ruler and power socket.
What are some of the innovations that make the Ford Ranger cargo box ideal for carrying cargo?
Ford Ranger owners can maximize the space provided by the cargo box with the help of a new drop-in bedliner with functional divider locators, aluminum extrusions, and plastic box and tailgate lids.
Which interior features help Ford Ranger owners keep their vehicles organized?
The Ford Ranger features a new center console design with dedicated storage compartments, helping owners keep their vehicles organized. It also features under-seat storage and a foldable rear seat back.
“Our goal is not just to make good trucks. We want to deliver the extraordinary that people want to have — one that customers around the world can trust to handle just about anything,” said Gary Boes, Director of Global Enterprise Product Line Management at Ford Trucks.
The next-generation Ranger comes with a variety of storage and organization options to keep cargo safe, make attaching accessories easy, and even allowing DIY customization. For example, owners can slide pieces of wood into crevices formed into the bedliner to form a segmented DIY storage space.
The addition of six structural attachment points in the protective load box cover makes it easy for adventurers to attach accessories such as a canopy, joist or awning, proving that the next-generation Ranger is the most versatile ever.
The pickup is also designed with a rear cargo box access step for easy ascent into the cargo box.
The easy-to-lift tailgate, which can be raised and lowered with one hand, can also be used as a mobile workbench. Owners can use the tailgate work surface for both professional and DIY projects. Two tailgate clamp pockets, hidden by a spring-loaded lid, are designed to help hold wood or other project materials, and the built-in ruler in 10 mm increments makes measuring easy and convenient.
With 400W and 12V sockets, owners can power a variety of appliances by plugging directly into the Ranger. A 400W bed-mounted plug can power items such as a small oven, a smartphone or laptop, a rice cooker, and even a 24-inch LED and DVD combination TV.
The new drop-in bedliners also feature a functional divider finder, allowing owners to build their own compartments to store items they may have to carry in the cabin.
The Ranger cargo box is the largest in its class, with a capacity of 1,233 liters, allowing customers to carry more.
The loading box edge and tailgate top are protected by a durable plastic box cover and tailgate cover. With this, owners can load goods into the cargo box without worrying about damaging the paint on the cargo box or the top surface of the tailgate.
There’s also more storage space in the cabin of the next-gen Ranger, with under-seat storage, a retractable cup holder, and a few pinholes. The new center console is also designed with a storage compartment, to help owners keep their vehicle more organized than ever. The rear seats can also be folded flat, allowing the owner to store more stuff inside.
Next-generation Ranger buyers can also customize their vehicles with a range of factory-backed work, urban and adventure accessories.
