The supercharged Ford Mustang Shelby GT500-H comes to Hertz rental fleet in the US

While the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 costs between $US86,000 and $110,000 in US showrooms, you can now rent a more powerful version tuned by Shelby performance stores – starting at $US399 per day at select Hertz offices throughout North America.

Twenty-five examples of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500-H (the ‘H’ is for Hertz) will join the charter fleet over the next three years, in a partnership between Hertz and performance-car outfit Shelby that began in 1966, when the “Rent- The original A-Racer was born.

The showroom version of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine (760hp/625ft-lb or 567kW/847Nm) and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Hertz version has been upgraded by the Shelby American tuning house in Las Vegas, to unleash even more power.

Hertz says 19 examples of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500-H are black with gold stripes and the Hertz badge. And six are white with gold stripes and a Hertz badge, in honor of Shelby American’s 60th birthday.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500-H also has the Hertz logo on the front brake calipers, door sill and floor mats, embossed Hertz badge on grille and boot, special frame plate (with manufacture number) on dashboard, and engine cover. painted gold.
