Aston Martin DBX707 launched: The standard version of the performance-oriented Aston Martin DBX, the DBX707, is now on sale in Malaysia. It features a raft of mechanical upgrades over the standard model which makes it the most powerful luxury SUV in the world. Under the hood is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that churns out 707 PS of maximum power and 900 Nm of peak torque. This SUV retails for RM 1,098,000 (excluding taxes, duties and optional features).
Ford Everest 2022 debut confirmed: Following the launch of the next generation Ranger, the official distributor of Ford Sime Darby Auto Connexion is now ready with another big launch in the country, namely the next generation Ford Everest. Based on the same foundation as the pickup, the revamped SUV will launch on September 24, 2022.
The 10-seater Hyundai Staria teases: While the 10-seater Hyundai Staria was spotted on local roads earlier this month, Malaysia’s Hyundai Sime Darby confirmed its arrival this week via social media posts. Compared to the existing 7-seater Staria Premium, the upcoming version is expected to forgo some premium features with the addition of a row of seats.
UMW Toyota Merdeka Day short film released: While celebrating its 65th anniversary, UMW Toyota released a heartwarming short film entitled “Heirs of the Hope of the State”. The Volvo C40 2022 Refill ROI page is now available: The official Volvo Car Malaysia website now offers some preliminary details of the C40 Recharge Pure Electric along with a form to “register your interest.” Officially debuting in March 2021, the upcoming C40 is a pure electric SUV based on the XC40 Recharge. It offers an electric range of up to 530 km.
Proton’s August 2022 sales results are out: Proton saw its highest monthly sales in 9 years last month. It sold a total of 15,880 units (including exports) with a 35% growth over the last month. The X50 continues to maintain its top spot in the SUV segment with shipments of 4,329 units in August, while the Saga remains Proton’s best-selling car with shipments of 6,156 units.
Modenas extended warranty is now offered: Modenas Malaysia has launched an optional two-year extended warranty program for certain motorcycles. This includes the Dominar D400, Pulsar RS200, Pulsar NS200, Elegant 250, Karisma 125S and Kriss 110. The additional price to be paid for the extended warranty ranges between RM 159 and RM 404.
Continental UltraContact UC7 tires now available: Continental UltraContact UC7 tires are now on sale in the Malaysian market. This new rubber is touted as a multi-purpose tire that puts safety first. According to the company, the tires have Diamond DNA which stands for Diamond Compound, Noise Breaker 3.0, and Aqua Channel Advanced, providing wet performance, noise reduction and long life.

2022 Honda Civic e:HEV launched in China: First revealed to the world in March, the hybrid version of the next-generation Honda Civic has now made its way to China. Dongfeng Honda, (a JV between Dongfeng and Honda) offers the Civic e:HEV in three variants in China, all powered by a two-motor i-MMD petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. Prices range from CNY 159,900 (RM 103k) to CNY 187,900 (RM 121k).
Smart #1 Brabus reveals: The Smart #1 EV destined for Malaysia gets special treatment from renowned Mercedes-Benz tuner, Brabus. This modified version of the electric crossover comes with an additional front electric motor that increases the combined output of the drivetrain setup. A number of design tweaks were also added for a sportier look.
Skoda Vision 7S concept unveiled: Czech automaker Skoda introduced the all-new Vision 7S concept this week. This electric SUV features the brand’s new design philosophy called ‘Modern Solid’ and the new ‘Skoda’ logo in a bespoke font. The production version of the EV will launch in 2026.
The Shelby Mustang GT500 Code Red breaks the cover: Shelby American has introduced a production version of its one-off experimental creation, dubbed the Shelby GT500 Code Red. Limited to just 30 units, this modified Mustang benefits from a long list of performance upgrades that add USD 209,995 (RM 942,700) to the price of the standard model.
2023 Subaru XV teases: The first official look of the next-generation Subaru XV was revealed by the Japanese automaker this week. While some of the exterior cosmetic tweaks of the upcoming XV are visible in the short clip, the full reveal will take place on September 15, 2022.
Toyota bZ3 electric sedan leaks: Toyota’s upcoming electric sedan, the bZ3, was reportedly leaked in China with the permission of the ministry of industry and information technology. As per media reports, the EV will make its official debut at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show later this year.
The Toyota GR Yaris gets the Kinto Garage kit: The Toyota GR Yaris and GR Yaris Morizo Selection are now part of the Kinto Factory lineup. Under the Kinto tag, the model offers customers an increased power number as well as personalized customization.
